Anthony William
Anthony Williams, Jr. is a native of Birmingham and a third-generation musician of his family. He started playing when his mother showed him what chords were. He began taking piano lessons where he learned to read music, and later became the Sunday School musician for his church, New Hope Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL.
Anthony was born in Birmingham, Alabama and studied at A. H. Parker High School, Birmingham-Southern College and the University of Alabama – _Birmingham, in Piano Performance and Music Technology. Anthony has taught music in the San Francisco Unified School District at the Phillip and Sala Burton Academic High School where he worked with Mr. Gregory Cole and the TOCC Choir. He is a former organist and choir director at The Allen Temple Baptist Church in Oakland, CA (Dr. J. Alfred Smith Pastor), and The National Baptist Convention of America (Birmingham). He has worked with such artist as: Stevie Wonder, Tramaine Hawkins, The Clark Sisters, Donnie McClurkin, Dr. Henry Panion and The Alabama Symphony Orchestra, just to mention a few. He has also traveled to Spain, Germany, Jamaica, A Carnegie Hall Performance, Amsterdam, and across the USA performing Jazz, Gospel, R&B, & Classical music respectively. Under the professional name AntMAN Music, he has served as Musical Director for such performances as: A Tribute to Aretha Franklin with the Red Mountain Theater, The 8th Wonder, a tribute to Stevie Wonder and many other plays around the Birmingham area. Anthony serves as the Music Minister at his church, First Memorial Baptist Church (Dr. Al Moore, Pastor) and serves as accompanist for the Alabama School of Fine Arts Dance and Theater Department in Birmingham, AL. Anthony has been married to Verada Fritz for 38 years and have one son, Antoine and three grandchildren whom he is very proud. Mr. Williams believes that Jesus Christ is the reason that he has been blessed to do the things has done.
